TEN intrepid adventurers from Shirley-based Energy and Utility Skills Group have conquered the 20 Peak challenge in aid of the Carers Trust.
Last weekend the team of ten, who have been training hard since February, took on their biggest challenge yet - an epic 35 mile trek in three days across the 20 peaks of the Lake District.
Paul Finley, information systems manager at EU Skills said: “It’s been an awesome event, I loved it. It is great to see what we can do when cold, tired, wet, hungry and in pain. For me adversity is the real test of a team and we were not found wanting. None of the stresses we had even came close to breaking us.”
The team expect to raise over £2,000 which will go toward the company’s ambitious £10,000 fund-raising target for local charities. So far, staff have collected over £4,000 for a variety of worthy causes.
