I HAD expected to see in this week’s Solihull News a reply to the serious concerns raised the previous week by Mr Singh about the finances at the Care Trust.
It was stated that the trust’s management costs had doubled in the last two years from £4.5m to £9m - the period since the trust was set up. Also that the trust this year had extra NHS funding for services of £16m and is still predicting a deficit of millions of pounds.
These are worrying issues for those of us who rely on the NHS for our services. Indeed the trust board heard last week that it could save £200k by not using all the money it had been given to improve access to psychological therapies.
I wonder if the chair of the trust or the council leader - it seems that he and the council has a strong voice in these matters - might like to provide some reassurance?
