THE borough is set to welcome VIPs when the regional Heart of England in Bloom judges visit on Monday (July 23).

The judges visit to Solihull will see local standards of horticulture, cleanliness and community involvement assessed starting with Blythe Valley Business Park and on to volunteers at work in Hockley Heath.

Dorridge is next before moving to Malvern Park, the town centre, Bluebell community garden and finally Arden Hall in Castle Bromwich.

The annual garden competition, sponsored by Notcutts and the Solihull News, has proved an effective way of getting people involved as businesses, schools, residents and retailers or pubs and community groups can get involved. The results will be announced in September.

If you would like to get involved in the organising of Bloom, contact Solihull Council on 0121 704 8752 or email bewood@solihull.gov.uk or
