BETWEEN them Elsie Butler and Vera Robinson have done 40 years of volunteer work for the UK’s leading veterinary charity.

The Solihull pair work at the PDSA shop in Hobs Moat and were this week presented with a special badge and certificate to mark their long service. Elsie has clocked up a quarter of century with the charity, while Vera has been helping out for the past 15 years.

Becky Howe. who manages the Solihull store, said: “Elsie has been at the shop since it first opened and enjoys sorting the donated items and preparing them for sale on the shop floor. Vera has a flair for chatting to customers while serving on the till and is a true ambassador for the charity.”

For more than 90 years the PDSA has provided free veterinary care for sick and injured animals. To find out how you can volunteer call 0800 854194 or visit www.pdsa.org.uk/volunteering.
