YOUNGSTERS from Shirley were kept entertained by taking part in sporting activities during the holidays, writes Natasha Forrester.
The sport sessions attracted a large number of eight-14 year olds to Swallow Meadows in Shirley, organised by Solihull Police and the Neighbourhood Sports Team.
Qualified coaches and youngsters both enjoyed a fun packed week of activities such as frisbee, football, cricket and tag rugby.
PC James Rencher said: “We know the negative impact anti-social behaviour can have on a community and we wanted to do something to help reduce it over the summer holidays.”
Chris Edgell from Solihull Neighbourhood Sports Team said: “Positive sports activity is being used as a valuable tool to build relationships with young people in the community.”
