Honour puts Trust in sharp focus

A YOUNG entrepreneur who has set up her own thriving business has been made an ambassador for the Prince’s Trust.

A YOUNG entrepreneur who has set up her own thriving business has been made an ambassador for the Prince’s Trust.

Leanne Dodds, from Hillfield, approached the organisation a year ago for advice on setting up her own firm to film weddings.

The venture has gone from strength-to-strength and last month the trust got in touch to ask if she would be willing to be a regional ambassador.

“I agreed because they’ve been absolutely fantastic, offering so much support over the months,” said the 26-year-old.

Former St Peter’s pupil Leanne had returned to the borough last year after being unable to find TV work down in London.

While weighing up her career options, she was offered an opportunity which got her thinking along different lines.

“I was wondering what on Earth I was going to do, when a friend asked if I could film her wedding for her,” she said.

“I did it as a bit of a favour but absolutely loved it and started to think there was a gap in the market for this kind of thing.

“I guess for a lot of people it’s quite a scary prospect but it’s always worth a go. The Prince’s Trust can offer a lot of help.”

Blooming Lovely Films has been running in earnest for around four months, during which time Leanne has got bookings for 30 weddings.

In her role as ambassador, Leanne will be promoting the work of the Prince’s Trust.
