EMERGENCY services closed a section of motorway after a horse lorry collided with a car on Sunday morning.
Ambulance crews were called to the smash on the southbound carriageway of the M42, near junction 3a (Hockley Heath).
They arrived to find the horse lorry on its side - with three horses and two dogs on the carriageway.
A middle-aged woman, driving the lorry, and a seven-year-girl had suffered minor injuries in the collision.
The woman was taken to Alexandra Hospital, Redditch, as a precaution, with the little girl discharged at the scene.
While the female car driver had escaped uninjured, a passenger was taken to hospital after complaining of back and neck discomfort.
The animals were rescued from the crash-scene, but had only minor injuries and were left with a vet.
