Hundreds join Lions for walk

THE freezing cold but dry weather for last Sunday’s Lions Festive Walk brought out hundreds of walkers for another great fund raising event, say organisers Knowle and Dorridge Lions.

THE freezing cold but dry weather for last Sunday’s Lions Festive Walk brought out hundreds of walkers for another great fund raising event, say organisers Knowle and Dorridge Lions.

“This is the 16th year our club has organised this great community fund raising day from Baddesley Clinton National Trust House,” said organising Lion Simon Newell.

“We were delighted to welcome over 500 people who set off for the choice of four, seven or 10 mile walks around the area.

“Almost £2,000 was received in donations to Macmillan Cancer Support, Whizz-Kidz, Campaign SightFirst ll and local Lions causes dand we are hopeful that those collecting sponsorship will eventually swell this figure to well over £6,000.”

Anyone who was unable to walk last Sunday, but would like to follow the routes can visit the Lions website www.KnowleandDorridgeLions.com/Walk where they will be able to download the route map.
