SOLIHULL Ice Rink is to close for six months from April 27 for a makeover.
The skating rink, at the Blue Ice Plaza complex in Hobs Moat Road, is jointly owned by property company St Modwen and Solihull Council.
All other parts of the complex, including the restaurants, snooker hall and gym, will stay open during the refurbishment.
Community activities such as bowls, dance clubs and local meetings will also carry on as normal.
Stuart Cummings, general manager at the ice rink, said: “To ensure this amenity can be enjoyed for many more years to come, we are carrying out essential improvement works which involve upgrading and replacing the ice.
“In order to minimise the impact to regular visitors and skating clubs, the works have been scheduled to take place over the less busy spring/summer months and are expected to be completed in time for an October half-term relaunch.”
