MAY I congratulate Solihull Council on their excellent recycling programme. As a family of three, we are now down to just one bag of waste each week. Everything else gets recycled, but as you are now operating collection for plastics, glass, aluminium and paper then I have no need to use fuel to get to this site to recycle my waste. All good for the environment.
As Monday is my day off work I usually take my son to school, admittedly in the car but today I chose to walk. Making my way along Pike Drive towards Bishop Wilson my attention turned to a long line of stationary traffic, with engines running, waiting behind a large waste collection vehicle. May I ask if 8.45am on a school day along a narrow road is the best time for this vehicle? Stationary cars, idling engines and irate parents and children? Not good for the environment.
C’mon Solihull. Let’s not let the detail spoil a great programme.
