PUT your best foot forward this Christmas with the 17th Knowle and Dorridge Lions Festive Walk .
Held on December 28, the event starts at Baddesley Clinton National Trust House with funds raised going to a number of charities including Teenage Cancer Trust, Parkinson’s Disease Society and fly2help.
Paula Hancox from Teenager Cancer Trust said: “We are delighted that the Lions have chosen the Teenage Cancer Trust as one of the beneficiaries of their fundraising this year. We hope that families will add the Festive Walk to their Christmas calendar and join us for a great fundraising opportunity.”
Organiser Simon Newell added: “Last year we had record numbers of walkers. This year we are hoping to attract 1000 walkers for the first time, and hope to raise thousands of pounds for these very worthy causes. This year for the first time we have included a shorter wheelchair friendly Tarmac Trail for those less mobile as well as three longer signposted routes of up to 10 miles. All pass through wonderful countryside using country lanes, public footpaths and canal towpaths.
“All ages are welcome especially if you get your efforts sponsored, but if arranging and collecting sponsorship will be a hassle you might prefer to walk and just make a donation.
“Afterwards all walkers are invited to join the Lions for hot mince pies and mulled wine”.
Entry is free by visiting the Lions website at www.knowleanddorridgelions.com/walk or telephone Simon on 08458 33 58 94.
