Some of the most affluent villages and suburbs in Solihull have seen a rise in unemployment - albeit very small.

The number of people out of work in Blythe, Dorridge, Hockley Heath and Olton has risen from 0.1 per cent to 0.2 per cent.

Unemployment has also risen in Shirley South and Smith’s Wood.

Youth unemployment has fallen for the fifth consecutive month but still remains higher than the national average.
