SAINSBURY’S are intent upon extending their empire. They are gambling upon Dorridge being a big prize if they can obtain planning permission.
Consultation has been negligible and residents are now presented with a plan which will transform a quiet residential area into another out-of-town shopping extravaganza.
The objections are many. We do not want hundreds of cars and trucks arriving and departing our village centre. We do not want rearrangement of our roads and pavements to try to accommodate this. We do not want the Doctors’ Surgery on an upper floor. We do not want Sainsbury box brand architecture either.
It should not be forgotten that closure of several businesses in Forest Court has caused a lot of misery to the owners and customers. Forest Court does need attention but not Sainsbury’s brand.
