A JAGUAR worker has been ordered to pay almost £250 after angrily smashing a door panel at a friend’s party.
Nathan Laing was at a gathering in Kingshurst, on April 20, when he became ‘embroiled in an argument’ and punched through the glass panel, worth £100, Solihull Magistrates Court heard.
“He was at a friend’s house when an argument occurred,” said Phillip Haycock, defending at last Thursday’s case.
“To diffuse the situation, the defendant physically separated himself from them... but then he punched out. He has apologised for it.”
Police later arrested Laing, who had left some forensic evidence at the scene. In interview, the 25-year-old admitted the offence and offered to pay for repairs.
Laing, of Guernsey Drive, Smith’s Wood, was ordered to pay £245 in costs and fines.
