Is agent 007 considering moving to Lapworth?
The Warwickshire village, a stone’s throw from the Solihull border, is awash with rumours that James Bond actor Daniel Craig popped in for a drink at the Punchbowl pub earlier this month.
And there is speculation that the Skyfall star is interested in buying the £2.95m property, Lapworth Paddocks.
The five-bedroom home, complete with swimming pool and stables, is on the market in Rising Lane – a rural road between Hockley Heath and Chadwick End.
Some residents took to Twitter to comment on the rumours. David Wilson wrote: “Obviously. Last I heard he was looking for a place in New York. But New York ain’t got a scarecrow festival...”
However, a source close to Craig, who is married to actress wife Rachel Weisz, claimed he had not been in the country for a fortnight. And estate agents confirmed this week that Lapworth Paddocks was still for sale.
It’s not the first time a famous face has said to be house-hunting locally. Five years ago, it was reported that Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne had his eye on the £3m Hampton Manor - later turned into a hotel and restaurant.
