JAMES Bond has topped a poll of Solihull’s favourite film characters.
As part of its Movie Mania season, Touchwood grilled cinema-goers about the characters which they admired the most.
And although its almost 50 years since Sean Connery made his debut as Agent 007, it seems that film buffs just can’t get enough of the superspy.
One in six people named the secret agent as their favourite character. The Dark Knight himself, Batman, came a close second and Captain Jack Sparrow, star of the Pirates of the Caribbean series, completed the top three.
When it came to favourite films, the Shawshank Redemption topped the poll - with 18 per cent of people naming it their favourite flick. But overall it seems that Silhillians like a good laugh, with a quarter of people saying that comedy is their favourite genre.
Lucy Burnett said: “We’re all big film fans here at Touchwood and we thought finding out about the Midland’s favourite movies would be a great way to kick start our forthcoming Movie Mania season.”
The season will start properly on September 25 and run until the end of October. Fashion shows, children’s events and cinema offers will be among the activities taking place.
