WHEN you delve through the mists of incomprehension into the world of the Cloud, it is absolutely fascinating stuff. And I hadn’t realised that I am actually already using some of the Cloud applications without realising it, when I access my internet banking system.

The Cloud provides businesses with the opportunity to access and use information. Somewhere from your computer, which might hold all your documents and wherever else you are with internet access, there is a wealth of information just waiting to be up or downloaded.

One of our members, Prime Chartered Accountants knows all about Cloud and encourages clients to use it. There is no printing of reams of paper and you don’t even need to use snail mail.

There are no rainclouds in sight when staff at Prime book their holidays using Cloud and it’s easy for clients and accountants to share screens, provide and retrieve information from drop box and create a form in Wufoo.

Our ’Need to Know’ event last week where Prime and UK IT Association explained cloud in practical terms could all have been managed on Eventbrite.

Solihull Chamber of Commerce exists to help support and create growth for business members. So when a system like Cloud puffs into the stratosphere, we hope we are the first to let members know all about it.

As Laurence Moore, chairman of Prime said: “cloud is our future”.
