A FATHER launched into a jealous rage and threw all of his ex girlfriend's clothes down the rubbish chute after an argument, a court has heard.

Andrew Bilton of Bloomhall Crescent, Acocks Green, admitted to going on a wrecking spree at his former partners home on September 22, smashing a television screen with an ash tray.

The pair, who have two children together, had been trying to work on their rocky relationship before the argument, Solihull Magistrates Court heard on Monday.

They had gone for a drink to talk about their future but the defendant became angry after his partner was approached by several male friends, Prosecutor Fiona Davis said.

Bilton smashed a mirror at his ex partner's home and later returned to the property, where he damaged the front door, television and threw her clothes in the bin.

Bilton's ex was not in her property at the time after she was tipped off by the defendant's father that he was on his way round to her address, the bench heard.

Magistrates were told Bilton, 27, was extremely remorseful for his actions and had been taking steps to combat his alcohol addiction.

He was placed under a supervision order for 12 months and told to complete a drug rehabilitation course. Bilton was also told to pay £170 in compensation and £85 costs.
