Kabul calling

AS the Most Intelligent Member of the Borough, I often get stopped in the street while walking my mother’s dog by passersby who say, “Mr Sawle, it’s all very well writing amusing letters into the Solihull News lampooning Tory local councillors, but what are you actually doing to get rid of these loathsome individuals?”

I have to admit that, unusually, I have found myself at a loss for words. However, I have come up with a cunning plan.

Senior military figures have said that the heroic losses by ‘Our Boys’ will be worth nothing if reasonable government can not be imposed in Afghanistan.

Who better to show ‘best practice in Local Government’ than our local councillors Meeson, Hawkins and Richards? What better way to show support for ‘Our Boys’ than volunteering their services in Helmand Province?

What could possibly go wrong?
