KNOWLE businesswoman Karren Brady will be joining Alan Sugar on the next series of BBC show The Apprentice.
Brady, who is currently managing director of Birmingham City FC, will replace Margaret Mountford as one of Lord Sugar’s lieutenants.
It will be her job to keep the contestants on their toes and report back to the entrepreneur on how the teams have performed.
“I am thrilled to be involved, having worked with Alan for 16 years. It’s great to extend our relationship to the programme,” she said.
It’s not the first time that the 40-year-old has been involved with the show. She has previously grilled contestants during the interview stage and headed up an all-woman team during a Comic Relief special.
Her new role on the hit TV series will increase speculation that Brady is about to leave St Andrew’s.
Carson Yeung, the Hong Kong mogul who is poised to complete a takeover of the club, has said that he would like her to stay.
However, Brady’s new job on The Apprentice and previous comments from the Blues boss may suggest that she will leave the club.
Yeung’s right-hand man Sammy Yu has been tipped to take over from the Silhillian.
