A PARTY at the Slug and Lettuce restaurant will kick-start a series of local fund raisers - being held to raise money for a rare disease.

Katie McCauley and Wendy Checketts are hoping to collect as much money as possible to help people with Myasthenia gravis.

The condition, sometimes known as rag doll illness, affects people’s muscles.

Live music, a raffle and an indulgence area will be among the party’s highlights - it is taking place next Tuesday (March 3).

Tickets are £5 each and available from Katie on 07968548382 or the Slug and Lettuce itself.

Following the evening at the Touchwood eatery, the girls will be holding follow-up events later in the year.
