A YOUNG man from Solihull was killed in a hit-and-run in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
The 24-year-old was hit by a car as he was crossing Sheaf Lane, Sheldon, having just got out of a taxi.
The incident happened at around 1.15am and paramedics were called to the scene.
An ambulance took him to Heartlands Hospital, but he was confirmed dead by medics a short time later.
He had not been named as the Solihull News went to press, but police liaison officers are working with his family.
Flowers left at the scene pay tribute to “Adam”.
Detectives are now trying to trace the driver involved in the collision and have appealed for information.
A vehicle, thought to be the one involved, was found parked in the Smith’s Wood area and is being checked by forensic experts.
Sergeant Chris Jones, from the Police collision investigation unit, appealed to the driver to come forward.
He said: “We would appeal to him to search his conscience and come forward at this distressing time for the deceased’s family.”
Police are also checking CCTV.
