Kingshurst man kicks through ex-girlfriend's front door

A MAN has claimed he kicked through his ex-girlfriend’s front door to escape after becoming locked in her flat.

A MAN has claimed he kicked through his ex-girlfriend’s front door to escape after becoming locked in her flat.

Scott Swan had let himself into the Avoncroft House apartment of ex-girlfriend, with his own key, on October 2, Solihull Magistrates Court heard.

Malcolm Stoddart, prosecuting, said a fight had ensued which had culminated in his former partner running out, locking the front door behind her.

“He then kicked the door on numerous occasions until there was a hole in it which he could climb out of,” Mr Stoddart added.

Kelly Edwards, defending, admitted that her client ‘feels there may have been other ways to get out’ but he felt he had been forced to kick a man-sized hole to escape.

Swan, 31, of Townsend Grove, Kingshurst, pleaded guilty to causing £100 of damage to the front door, belonging to Solihull Housing.

The case was adjourned until October 26.
