CLUB runners, athletes and families in fancy dress are being invited to pull on their running shoes for this year’s Solihull Festival.
The annual fun run/walk will be taking place on September 20. It’s free to enter, with participants raising money for various local charities.
Crowds will start off at Norman Green Athletics Track and complete a route through Tudor Grange Park and school playing fields.
A festival spokesman said: “Mums and dads will be there again this year with children, some in pushchairs.
“Serious runners can complete the course in approximately 15-17 minutes, while the fun walkers may take as long as 45 minutes.”
For those who shudder at the prospect of exercise, don’t fear, even I managed to complete the course last year. Wearing my work shoes, coat and best pair of trousers was probably foolish in hindsight, but it proves, if nothing else, that even overweight journalists can have a go.
No entries will be accepted on the day, so call 01564 739459 or visit www.solihullfestival.co.uk.
