Last call to enter Solihull in Bloom

SOLIHULL Council is reminding people that the closing date is nearing for entries into this year’s Solihull in Bloom Floral Garden Competition.

SOLIHULL Council is reminding people that the closing date is nearing for entries into this year’s Solihull in Bloom Floral Garden Competition.

Every year, residents are given the chance to enter their garden, hanging basket or flower display into the competition which is run in partnership with the Solihull Times and Notcutts Garden Centre – this year, all entries must be in by the June 30.

There are also categories for local businesses, schools, community groups, hotels and restaurants to enter their gardens and people can even nominate their local pub.

All finalists will be invited to a special ceremony in September to recognise their hard work where they’ll be in with the chance of winning a share of vouchers worth over £1,000.

Cabinet member for community services, Cllr Mrs Kate Wild said: “Each year, the borough is brought to life with colourful and creative gardens and we hope that this tradition continues for many years to come. We get such a great response from residents, schools, community groups and local businesses who all want to help keep the borough looking its best and we encourage even more people to get involved.”

To enter this year’s Solihull in Bloom Floral Garden Competition, people will need to complete and return an entry form to the council – the full return address is on the entry form. Forms can be found in Solihull libraries or can be requested by calling Becky Wood, Solihull in Bloom Co-ordinator, on 0121 704 6546. You can also apply online at www.solihull.gov.uk/solihullinbloom.
