South Solihull University of the Third Age has been awarded a £3,000 lottery grant.

The local branch of the international organisation, which provides lifelong learning opportunities for retirees, will use the cash boost to buy a computer, sound equipment, projector and screen to help members share educational material.

Secretary John Eveson said: “We have interest groups ranging from book clubs to local history, gardening to bowling, French to walking and others.”

More than 70 members meet at Bentley Heath Community Centre on the second Monday of every month, at 2pm.
