BIG hearted Solihull Lion Paul Jolly had his mind on good causes even as he lay seriously ill in hospital.
The Streetsbrook Road resident was recovering after having four stents put in his heart when he noticed staff in Solihull Hospital’s cardiac rehabilitation unit were having to use three different machines to monitor his heart rate, oxygen levels and blood pressure.
“The staff told him that they did have one piece of kit that could do all three jobs at once but it was missing the necessary attachments and accessory needs,” said Lions spokesman Alan James.
Always on the look out for a good cause to help, Paul, the director of a major road haulage company, contacted his Lions colleagues to see if they could help.
“It was only a few hundred pounds to get all the bits and pieces this machine needed and the result is that now it can help benefit other heart patients too,” said Alan.
