A LITTLE Italy racetrack was created at Birmingham Airport last week to celebrate the launch of nine new Italian routes.

Passengers were able to race remote control Mini cars through iconic Italian landmarks such as the Colosseum in Rome, the Opera House in Verona, the Rialto Bridge in Venice and shops in Milan on the 32 square metre racetrack at the departures area.

Monarch airline’s expansion of routes to destinations including Venice, Rome, Verona and Milan will also help to create a further 200 jobs at Birmingham Airport.
