THE number of BNP members in Solihull has recently been revealed following the leaking of membership information of the party on the internet.
The list contains names, addresses, telephone numbers and occupations of supposed BNP members, and even includes information about members' children.
The information, which has been seen by the Solihull News, details over 50 BNP members who live in the Solihull area, a number of whom are listed as 'party activists'.
Believed to be leaked by a recently fired employee of the far-right party, the list will embarrass many and has already led to a number of job losses. It is forbidden to be a member of the BNP if you work for the Police, and members of the armed forces are all also prohibited from political activity.
The relatively high number of BNP members in the Solihull area was identified by a national newspaper who commented on it on their website.
The figures will disappoint those working towards greater community cohesion in the borough, and will worry many who were angered by misleading leaflets published by the BNP earlier in the year over a planning application for a community centre in Shirley.
