A LOCAL dentist is all smiles after telling fellow practitioners of his story from humble origins to running the Sherwood Dental Practice in Hall Green.

Dr Saaquib Ali, aged 34, has not only seen his practice crowned the best in the Midlands at the recent Dentistry awards, but he was also invited to deliver his lecture to 400 dentists at the Young Dentist Conference earlier this month.

Held at the Royal college of Physicians the conference was a joint initiative between the British Dental Association, British Dental Journal and Dental Protection.

Dr. Ali became one of the youngest dentists in the Country to own a large practice and was also one the youngest dentists to be approved as a vocational trainer for the Midlands Deanery.

He was also highly commended as “Best Young Dentist in the Midlands” this year.

Dr. Ali said “It was truly humbling to be invited to speak at such a high profile event in the world of dentistry.

“My story is essentially about a working class boy that made good by sheer hard work and determination.

“I have been truly blessed and am lucky to have such a wonderful team and patients supporting me.”

The national magazine “Dentistry” will be featuring Dr Ali’s full story in its next edition..
