LUCKY star Seren has got a birthday to remember after being born on 12/12/12.
Seren Duran Rabbitt arrived in the world weighing just over 8lbs, in delivery room 12 at Heartlands Hospital’s Princess of Wales Maternity Unit on Wednesday December 12.
Although not due until the 14th, mum Emma, from Hall Green, went into labour three days early, arriving at the hospital just before midnight on the 11th. Seren arrived less than an hour later.
“She will be a lucky star because Seren means star in Welsh,” said the proud mum-of-three, aged 31.
“When I went into labour on the 11th I realised that her birthday would be the day and the month would be the 12th. It was only later that I realised the year was also 12.
“Her 12th birthday will probably be special as well.
“It’s the last special date for 88 years. The next time that the day, month and year will be the same won’t be until 01/01/2101.”
The unusual birthday was also shared by labour ward co-ordinator Kay Hawker, who delivered the tiny bundle of joy.
“That was just a lovely coincidence,” added Emma.
Couples nationwide also rushed to share the memorable milestone, with Gretna in southern Scotland, famous for Gretna Green, seeing a 25-fold increase in marriages, with 51 in total.
