Locals are forced to pay for drives cleared without permission

In response to concerns, police stopped two men with shovels in Shirley, on Wednesday, January 23, shortly after 8pm.

Further investigations revealed one of the men was wanted for a theft in November last year.

The 33-year-old was arrested and has been bailed to appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court on February 8.

Sergeant Paul Fitzgerald from Solihull police station, was quick to praise the actions of residents.
