North Birmingham Community Credit Union, with the support of Solihull Community Housing (SCH), is providing a safe way for Solihull borough residents to save and borrow.

SCH chief executive Steve Boyd said: “SCH is raising awareness of our local credit union because we know our tenants need all the help they can to avoid doorstep lenders, loan sharks and a spiral of debt.”

The not-for-profit union is owned and controlled by members who pool their savings to provide a bank of funds for loans. Once members have proved they can save regularly, they can get loans at low rates of interest.
