A PET cat that entered the Guinness Book of Records for having the loudest purr on the planet will visit Solihull this month. Smokey, who belongs to a Northamptonshire family, has registered 92 decibels - making the moggy as noisy as a Boeing 737.

Owners Ruth and Mark Adams have said the British Shorthair can drown out the TV and radio with her purring.

The famous feline will be signing “pawtographs” at Solihull Waterstone’s on March 17, from 11am-2.30pm.
