Jill Reilly, from Shirley, said she bought her pregnant daughter £135 worth of vouchers from Indigo Beauty Spa for Mother’s Day. But when she came to use her gift, her daughter discovered the salon had shut without notice, leaving no contact details - simply a sign stating they had closed due to “unforeseen circumstances.”
“They just disappeared into thin air,” said Ms Reilly. “I am so angry. They willingly accepted my money knowing they were closing. My family and I have used the salon for many years and spent thousands of pounds in there between us. I think it is totally shoddy the way we have been treated after our loyal custom.
“Myself and my daughter had treatment appointments booked and they did not have the decency to call us to say they had been cancelled.”
Ms Reilly claimed she also had around £140 personally outstanding and was worried other customers were in the same boat.
A Mell Square spokesperson said: “ We are also surprised by the spa’s sudden departure from the centre.” Director of Indigo Salon, Talab Iqbal, was unavailable for comment.
