THOUSANDS of drivers could have their speeding convictions quashed because some signs on the M42 used the wrong font.

THOUSANDS of drivers could have their speeding convictions quashed because some signs on the M42 used the wrong font.

The numbers displayed on some variable speed limit signs were taller and narrower than the regulations, according to the Crown Prosecution Service.

Some lawyers have now called for the speeding tickets issued on two stretches of the M42, between junctions 3a to 7 and junctions 7 to 9, to be torn up.
