THE Solihull News is the borough’s biggest newspaper and it’s thanks to our dedicated team of delivery people that it reaches so many homes each week.
Deliveryman Brian Dale is still doing his rounds, even as he approaches his 70th birthday.
The Olton man has been delivering our paper for more than 15 years, and is one of the many distributors offering an excellent service throughout the borough.
Mr Dale began delivering the title in 1994, whilst on short time at work, along with odd jobs and leaflet distribution.
Before the two papers were merged, he would deliver both the Solihull Times and News to the roads around his home in Castle Lane.
He said that he had enjoyed the opportunity to get to know the people on his round, as well as the exercise.
“I’m retired now” said Brian. “It stops me sitting around eating food all day and watching telly.”
Brian celebrates his 70th birthday in December, and will be entering his 16th year of deliveries on June 3.
