A man who was caught with a Class A drug has also been banned from getting behind the wheel for drink driving.

Paul Macken, 52, was caught by police when they were called to an unrelated disturbance at The Farthings pub in Castle Bromwich. Solihull Magistrates Court heard that he was seen getting into his car on April 26 and driving it onto a grass verge. He was stopped by officers, who could smell alcohol on his breath. The defendant failed to provide a breath test and was found with a small wrap of cocaine.

Macken, of Timberley Lane, Shard End, pleaded guilty to cocaine possession and failing to provide a specimen of breath and was disqualified from driving for three years. He was fined £120 and told to pay £85 costs and £20 victim surcharge.
