A MAN has been charged with wasting police time over an alleged hoax call, which led to a three-hour siege at a Chelmsley Wood tower block.

A MAN has been charged with wasting police time over an alleged hoax call, which led to a three-hour siege at a Chelmsley Wood tower block.

Armed police had descended on the Forth Drive flats on April 7, following a call claiming there was a man inside with a gun, threatening to shoot occupants.

The 43-year-old, from Coventry, will appear before Solihull Magistrates’ Court on May 11.
