A SOLIHULL man has been charged with the murder of his teenage daughter.
Seventeen-year-old Chanelle Sasha Jones was found dead in Aberaeron - on the Welsh coast - over the weekend
She had been reported missing last Sunday and her body was discovered inside a car which had been stopped by local police.
A post mortem showed that the teenager - known to friends as Sasha - had died from stab wounds.
Dad Gary Fisher, aged 47, appeared before Llanelli magistrates yesterday (Thursday). He spoke only to confirm his name and details and was remanded in custody until his next court appearance later this month.
In a statement, mum Jayne said: “She was my lovely daughter who will be so sadly missed by her sister and two brothers and all her family and her boyfriend Brian. We all love you and miss you darling babe.”
Sasha’s friends have also posted scores of tributes on the social networking website Facebook.
The Independent Police Complaints Commission will be investigating the way that local officers dealt with the missing person report.
Tom Davies, IPCC commissioner for Wales, said: “The IPCC investigation will be carried out by our own investigators and they will be looking at whether the police response to the missing person report was proportionate and timely.”
