A YOUNG man was stabbed and left lying by the roadside in the middle of Chelmsley Wood last Tuesday.
The 23-year-old was found slumped on the pavement in Moorend Avenue, a stone’s throw from the shopping centre.
Police have said that the victim, who has not been named, had suffered a stab wound to the chest.
He arrived at hospital in a critical condition, but police told the Solihull News that he was discharged earlier this week.
The man had been discovered by a passer-by at around 10pm and emergency services were called.
Officers taped-off a section of the road and forensic experts combed the area for clues. Force CID, who are investigating the attack, said there were reports of a group of men in the area, at the time the victim was found.
Detectives hope that drivers or people waiting at the nearby bus interchange might have seen what happened. They are also checking CCTV cameras, trying to piece together the events leading up to the stabbing.
It’s not thought that West Midlands Police have made any arrests at this stage. Enquiries are ongoing.
Anyone who saw what happened can call Force CID on 0345 113 5000 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
