Man held over Kingshurst park robbery

AN 18-year-old has been accused of trying to rob two teenagers in Kingshurst Park and threatening them with a fake gun.

AN 18-year-old has been accused of trying to rob two teenagers in Kingshurst Park and threatening them with a fake gun.

Kenneth Watson, from Crockets Road, Handsworth, appeared before Solihull Magistrates Court last Thursday (January 26). He faces charges of attempted robbery and possessing an imitation firearm.

It’s alleged that he demanded money from two 17-year-olds last Tuesday evening, at around 6.45pm.

Magistrates remanded Watson in custody and he will appear at Warwick Crown Court on May 9.

Two other youths, a 16-year-old from Erdington and a 17-year-old from Kingshurst, were arrested in connection with the incident but released without charge.
