A THIEF told Solihull magistrates he stole £70 worth of razors to buy a Christmas present - and some drugs.

Lee Sadler, 46, of Nevada Way, Chelmsley Wood was seen placing the razors in his pocket at Boots in Mell Square on December 16.

But he was only arrested when he returned to the store on January 2.

The court heard that Sadler had a “lengthy record” but was due to start a rehabilitation course.

Sadler, who pleaded guilty to shoplifting, was ordered to pay £180 costs plus £70 compensation.
