DEDICATED barmaid Maureen Marshall has seen many sights in her long spell at the Masons Arms on Solihull High Street.
But nobody could believe her reaction when she turned up for work to find out a surprise party had been arranged to celebrate 25 years of her loyal service.
The 73-year-old was totally stunned when she saw her fellow staff and a bunch of regular customers clutching balloons and clapping as she walked into work.
"She was so shocked," said Jo, a colleague who had organised the event.
"Strolling in at 11 o'clock, she thought she had a normal day ahead of her, but she was pleasantly surprised!"
Banners were displayed around the pub and a buffet was put on for Maureen who even has her own serving spot called 'Mo's Bar'
A collection from the staff and some of Masons' most popular customers helped fund a diamond crucifix - something the long-serving pint puller had always wanted.
"She's a lovely hard-working lady, and a pleasure to work with," said Jo.
"She fully deserves everything she got on the day."
Maureen received enough flowers to last her another 25 years and also celebrated with a glass of Champagne, which of course was given to her on the house.
