THE countdown has begun to the social event of 2011 - the Mayor’s Borough Ball.

THE countdown has begun to the social event of 2011 - the Mayor’s Borough Ball.

Billed as the Ball for All, the annual evening has enjoyed a revival in recent years raising much-needed funds for Macmillan Cancer Research and the Mayor’s charities.

Over 500 people are expected at the black tie event on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at the National Motorcycle Museum in Solihull.

This year’s Mayor’s Ball for All aims to raise over £10,000 through ticket sales, tombola and an auction. Tickets cost just £35 and include a three course meal and an evening packed with entertainment.

The Mayor of Solihull, Councillor Ian Courts, said: “The Mayor’s Ball always has a fantastic atmosphere, with great food and excellent entertainment. This year we promise another great night for all, including amazing live music and some brilliant prizes to be won. I look forward to seeing many friends and residents enjoying the evening.

“Beyond the fun, the ball aims to raise lots of money for Macmillan Cancer Support and the Mayoral charities.

“Macmillan does a great job helping many local people affected by cancer. I hope people will rally around this cause and support the ball.”

Local businesses can also sponsor the ball including donating prizes.
