TWO of the Midlands’ leading housing groups have joined forces to build more social housing across the region this year.
The merger of West Mercia Housing Group and Whitefriars Housing Group means more than 400 homes will be built in the Midlands by 2012.
This is part of the group’s pledge to create decent communities and provide affordable housing in places where people want to live and work.
West Mercia and Whitefriars now manage about 22,000 homes in the region, including Solihull.
They are also involved in the regeneration project in the north of the borough, one of the biggest in Europe.
