THIEVES have swiped a batch of mobile phones intended for charity from Bickenhill’s recycling centre - the latest in a spate of thefts from the site.

The wheelie bin full of the handsets was taken from Solihull Council’s Household Waste and Recycling Centre in Coventry Road on Sunday, September 16, at 2.28pm.

In separate incidents, the council has also reported car battery thefts and an elderly man helping himself to TV sets.
