MERIDEN MP Caroline Spelman has hit out at Solihull Council for allowing pipe-work to be laid at the controversial Eaves Green travellers site this week.
Solihull Council granted permission for the ‘temporary works’, which it said were necessary to address health, safety and welfare needs.
But with the planning application due to be heard on July 7, Mrs Spelman questioned the council’s timing.
“I can understand why residents are concerned to see any further development taking place so near to a decision being made about whether the site should be authorised.”
A spokeswoman for the council said: “In granting the injunction the judge was satisfied that the council recognised its responsibilities to the proper needs of those who are rightly or wrongly on the site.”
