SINGLE mum Pam Hodgetts hopes she hasn’t bitten off more than she can chew when embarking on a challenge of a lifetime next April.
Pam is taking part in a six day expedition travelling 250km from Norway to Sweden by dog sledge.
She plans to use the epic trip to raise money for Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
The 38 year-old has never attempted anything like it before and has recruited a personal trainer from the O2 gym in Solihull to help her get into shape.
The physio at Solihull College, who was prompted to help the hospital after her god-daughter Kizzy Osbourne suffered head trauma said: “I saw the treatment that Kizzy received and I wanted to give them something back!”
Pam has arranged a number of fund raising events ahead of next April’s trek starting with a cabaret and burlesque evening at the Hare and Hounds in Kings Heath tonight Friday, September 3 at 8.30pm. With live bands and a DJ, tickets are available on the door.
Pam is also planning a quiz night at Solihull Moors’ Damson Park ground on October 8.
“The expedition is covered financially but I still need to pay for kit,” she said. If anyone can help, please contact www.justgiving.com/Pam-Hodgetts.
