Mumtrepreneur launches candy cart

A MUM-of-four is hoping for sweet success with her handcrafted sweets cart.

A MUM-of-four is hoping for sweet success with her handcrafted sweets cart.

Jo Powell’s set up Fairytale Delights to provide sweets and treats for special events, presented in a beautifully decorated wooden cart.

The former office worker, from Shirley, said: “My husband has been struggling to find work as a self-employed carpenter so I decided I was going to go it alone doing something I really loved. Having four children under the age of four, meant I had to think a little differently and that’s when I came across the idea for a candy cart.

“I loved the idea you could use them for the happiest events in your life. With the wedding season upon us, my husband handmade the cart which can be dressed in any colour or to any theme a customer wants.”

Clients can hire the cart and pay for an allocated number or sweets or homemade cupcakes if they prefer, which are presented in elegant glassware or treat trees.

Anything left uneaten at the event can be taken home by guests.

“We also offer centrepieces, message boxes, chair covers and sashes- the whole package to help take the stress out of creating a beautiful, memorable day,” Jo added.
